DEAR MOM...

DEAR MOM,

 I looked at your picture
 again today..
It sits on my nightstand
 close where I lay..

 Kindness radiates through
your eyes so blue..
They twinkle with kindness,
as they always do..

Gazing upon your face I see
the years you've endured ..
Hardships, difficulties,
 pain to be sure..

I see a strong woman
I so proudly call Mom..
Your picture reflects
The woman I still
wish to become..

Thank you for telling
me one day as I cried..
" This too shall pass"..
It's a reminder from heaven
You're always by my side..

You taught me to look
past the color of skin...
Never  judge others,
that's simply a sin..

Years have now passed since
I've seen your sweet face..
My heart has a hole where
You once held that space..

I love you Mom, how I
wish you were here..
Sending my love by
an angel to
whisper in your ear..
