THE SLUGGER INSIDE HER...

She was a slugger then,

 way back in the day ....

It was baseball that

she loved to play..

She pitched, she caught,

 she could throw the ball..

Her favorite  though, 

Was to play short stop...

When it was time  for her to bat..

The coach would motion for

the players to move back..

She hit that ball like 

nobodies business..

She hit the ball all
the way to Christmas...

Her batting average 

was always good..

Her coach was pleased,

he knew she could..

She loved to play on

those summers eves..

She kicked the dirt

and rolled up her sleeves..

 She loved to play..

This baseball was fun..

She could play all day

in the summer sun..

She's older now with 

aches and pains..

But the young girl inside,
 believes she still can ..

Run and jump and catch

those flies..

Just give her that bat..

 and  let her try..

The young girl inside wants

to give it a GO...

But the older broad says,

Are you crazy?

N O !!!!
