CLIMBING BADGER MOUNTAIN

Climbing Badger Mountain

For that last two days I climbed this hill..
It's springtime glory with each green crevasse fill.
.
The wind blows  fluffy white clouds In the heavens sky.
As I climbed and watched them floating  by..

As I stood on it's mountains top..
I revered the beauty of the  earth's growing crop..

Yet on one side population crawled ..
Like matchbox cars and buildings
sprawled..

This mountain taller than most
dotted across the land ..
As I viewed the vast urban and agricultural span..

Roads and trails look like ribbons
across the massive view...
To carry it's passengers of man and creatures too..

The song of the Meadowlark
Heard loud and clear..
Thrills my soul for I love
To hear..

You will never hear this bird's symphonic song..
Inside the streets or sidewalks
Below and long..

For it loves the rural country-
side ..
To sing it's song with so much pride..

This mountain called Badger named of the critter that has inhibited these parts..
For thousands maybe millions of years of this mountain earths start..

I love this beautiful mountain and all it's glory..
It holds within it's vast and gorgeous story..

The trails were built by men who loved it too..
So all can enjoy it's tales and vast expansive view..

So I will climb and love this hillside trail..
For each time I do there's a new sight to tell..
The sagebrush scent, the tiny wildflower for just awhile
I see..
And green velvet tint til summer sun turn grass brown to be..

It doesn't matter the color or arid climate weather be..
It is the mountain and it's grandeur that sets my spirit free..

So climb I must this Badger Mountainside..
Either dawn or dusk or midday
it matters not..
I'll tread to top and descend
With certain pride..
