Jesus Christ:
12 "Therefore, God's chosen ones, holy and loved, put on heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, 13 accepting one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a complaint against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so also you must [forgive]. 14 Above all, [put on] love—the perfect bond of unity." Colossians 3:12-14 (HCSB)
I am pretty sure this is my favorite of all scriptures ..
It says it all on how we are to be as God's chosen creatures..
Sometimes I am shocked and dismayed at how unforgiving and unloving we are one to another.,
Including myself as I speak and interface with others , my earthly brothers..
Forgive me Lord, chastise my motives and unkind words
to others I encounter and meet..
Help me step back take a brief moment and pray before I speak ..
All to often I blurt out unkindness, a far from loving word to make a point or when I want to explain a thought ..
Words that are provoked to hurt or wound , just to make sure my opinion is made and sought..
My dark and unholy nature takes over..
If only I would stop, breath and pray ..
Then take on the nature of my holy other..
My other character of holiness given as a gift from the Son of God who died in my stead.. He forgave and provided that cover ..
So once again I seek His forgiveness from the sin I spoke in haste..
And once again I am cleansed and bathed in His Loving Grace ..
I hear him say as I lift my head in thought and prayer..
" Please go my child, sin no more, show others how much you care"..
I Love You Jesus!!
